Setting
The setting of Moonbound takes place in a fictional continental land known by [name]. The region is divided into factional territories between major nations and locations. The major nation-states border the broader edges of the lands, with an unaligned region in the central plains.
The major factions are Lorbria, Odora, the Quanspring Dynasty, Rohutan, and Symphalia.
There exists other factions outside of the scope; being unnamed kingdoms across the sea, agricultural factions to the north of the Northern Mountains, and the country kingdom of Pontegu to the desert in the northwest. These regions are not explored within the main story of Moonbound, but the author hasn't denied the possiblity of a story taking place in those locations.
The Conflict
The primary conflict that drives the events of the story arise from the falling of the City of Gold. The following exerpt is taken from the series introduction page:
One hundred years ago, the great City of Gold fell. It was the richest of them all, and held vast power over the land. But when it vanished into the mists,a power vacuum erupted. Factions were made to claim the wealth and reach that the city once had. However, no one could find the ruins of the city that once was. Skirmishes turned to battles, and battles turned to wars. And yet after all this time, nothing was gained.
Following this in the 100 years that followed, arise the present day factions and groups. It can be inferred that the number of factions when the conflict first started were numerous, and gradually joined together or were wiped out entirely.

Plot
The story follows the perspective of Archie, a war general to the Crescent House. Raised from a young age following a massacre in her home village, she soon found her talents lie not in the service of housekeeping, but of battle. She spent her later formative years under training, soon finding herself rising out of the mud and into the ranks of General for service to her house. Considered a cold and uninviting person, her friends are few. But in the shadows of a skirmish gone wrong, she finds herself at the mercy of a prince while she barely hung on for life. By his grace, she is saved, but now forever holds a debt towards him, yet to be repaid.
Now, the army of the fiendishly cold general is joined by the military entourage of the smug prince as they both travel the land, round and round.
